Alex Nelson is a Portlander, a banker, and a music enthusiast. His recent venture, Impact Capital Management, specializes in connecting underserved small business owners in the Pacific Northwest with good funding sources. He’s also played in half a dozen bands (drums and bass), has attended around 250 concerts, and is an all-around audio enthusiast. We ran into Alex at a watchmaking seminar where our COO Jim Hassert happened to bring up our newly released wood speaker & amp. When Alex mentioned his passion for music and keenly attuned sense of hearing, we thought it’d be fun to get his input on the sound of our new system.

What follows is a conversation between Alex and Jim in which they discuss acoustics, growing up audiophile, and how well our system handles three favorite (and demanding) tracks.
