Put Some Cork In It!
The newest material in our palette is soft, friendly, and oh-so-nice. We put together a behind the scenes look at how we’re processing it in our shop.
Lately, we’ve been swimming in cork. It’s the newest addition to our designs—and honestly, the more we use it, the more we find uses for it.

Why? It’s elastic. It’s impermeable to water. It’s soft. It’s lightweight. It’s even fire retardant!

Cork Fact: Mature cork trees are harvested once every nine years.

The cork we use is the highest quality and finest grained cork we could find. Larger grained cork is visually way too busy—it stands out from the rest of our designs. For the black variant, we tested different stains and dyes until we could get the right richness of black, eventually settling on Japanese calligraphy ink, which we apply by hand. We’ve been learning and adapting our methods to optimize all the new processes in the shop.

Check out this behind the scenes look at what we’ve been up to in our shop, and see how these products actually get made!
